Phuket Sights, Attractions & Events

Phuket Thailand has many attractions one can discover either on day trips or longer. The Beaches are by far the biggest attraction to Phuket because it has many beaches for one to explore. You can keep yourself busy all year round with the many attractions in Phuket other than just the beaches however.

Phuket FantaSea show

From the creators of Safari World, Thailand’s most popular animal & leisure park, comes a new and unique cultural theme complex ~ Phuket FantaSea ~ that promises to be the ultimate in nighttime entertainment on Phuket.

Inspired by Thailand’s rich and exotic heritage, Phuket FantaSea not only showcases the charm and beauty of Thailand, but also enriches ancient Thai traditions with the wonder of cutting edge technology and special effects. The result is a stunning 140-acre theme complex, packed with a multitude of activities and entertainment:

Phuket Simon Cabaret

"She is more of a man that you will ever be and even more of a women."

13th anniversary - Dubbed the mother of all cabarets on the island, Phuket Simon Cabaret celebrates its 10th anniversery on the 18.10.2001. A milestone of sort, given the kind of challenges it went through just to earn the respect and patronage of local and foreign guest. When we first started recalls a spokesman for Simon Cabaret, people won't take us seriously The Simon Group commenced operations in Phuket in 1991. The group interests are associated with meeting the demands of Phuket's everexpanding tourism and entertainment industry.

Promthep Cape

Promthep Cape is a headland forming the extreme south end of Phuket. "Prom" is Thai for the Hindu term, "Brahma," signifying purity, and "Thep" means 'God.' Local villagers used to refer to the cape as "Leam Jao", or the God's Cape, and it was an easily recognisable landmark for the early seafarers traveling up the Malay Peninsula from the sub-continent.

Promthep is the island's most photographed and perhaps best-known location. Every evening, large tour buses, scooters and private cars sweep through Rawai and up the island's southernmost hill to Phromthep.

Old Phuket Town

Visit Old Phuket - Streets are filled with 100 year old shop houses that have been remade into small hotels, restaurants and shops. Spend a little time here and feel the character of this island come to life as you explore the older yet attractive side of town.

Wat Chalong Temple

Visit Wat Chalong - Wat Chalong (Chalong Temple) is filled with history and culture of Phuket. Legend even states that miracles were performed here on Wat Chaitararam (known by royal decree), and that the Wat had healing capabilities. See famous Buddhist statues such as the Poh Than Jao Nonsi and even some of the ex-abbots of the temple like Luang Poh Chuang and Luang Poh Gleum.

Many local Thais and Asian tourists will set off fire crackers and ask for the lucky lottery numbers, and have their fortune told. Pick one up and shake the can back and forth rhythmically until one of the sticks works its way to the top and falls to the floor. Read the number, then walk around the corner to the right where there is a wooden cabinet on the wall. Open the drawer with the corresponding number and take one of the slips of paper inside. Get someone to translate it for you or hold onto it until you get back to your hotel where the desk clerk can translate it

Vegetarian Festival

Whether they're held to honour a religious belief or just for fun, the festivals of Phuket are exciting, sometimes bizarre spectacles – and they're certainly never bland. The Vegetarian Festival draws people from all over the world. It's colourful, it's deafening and sometimes fascinatingly gruesome. Vegetables gruesome? Come and see for yourself…

Patong's Nightlife at Bangla Road

The Phuket nightlife is another reason why many tourists visit Phuket each year on holiday. Many tourists seem to keep coming back each year for especially the nightlife and bars of Phuket. Most Phuket island nightlife venues can be found in Patong beach along the well known Soi Bangla. A number of large clubs are located along Bangla road in Patong including the very popular Tiger disco and the new Seduction Disco.
